ABOUT
ABOUT ME
Hi, my name is Mary! I was born and raised in Washington State and I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of British Columbia in Geography with a focus on Environmental Studies and Sustainability. Living in the Pacific Northwest my whole life has sparked my love for the outdoors and my interest in environmental sciences, natural recource management, and the applications of geomatics.
WHAT I'VE DONE
-
I have worked in the environmental management industry as a GIS consultant for almost two years, specializing in geo-hazard management, LiDAR analysis, and field team support.
-
Graduated with my Master's of Geomatics for Environmental Management from UBC in April 2021.
-
Alongside my graduate studies, I worked as a GIS Analyst for Campus and Community Planning at UBC and as a peer mentor at Women in Geospatial.
-
During my undergrad at UBC, I was a part of the Hydrogeoscience for Watershed Management Research Group where I spent the year expanding my research skills, troubleshooting efficiency, and data analysis techniques.
WHAT I DO
With more than 3 years of experience exploring the applications of GIS, remote sensing, statistics, and environmental management practices and policy, I have developed the skills of a problem solver, team player, and passionate investigator. I look forward to future opportunities that arise and the chance to use geomatics to tackle different environmental problems.
